LibraryThe library is a collection of books owned by the Orange County Orchid Society, Inc. These books can be checked-out to any OCOS member in good standing. To view the library catalog, click on the subject links below. A PDF file will appear with the list of books available. To reserve a book, make note of the catalog number or numbers at the beginning of row. Click the Librarian's link below to open an e-mail to Dan Warren. List the catalog numbers of the books you wish to check out of the library along with your name. The librarian will make the book or books available for you at the next monthly meeting. The check-out period for each book is one month or until the next meeting. To check out a book: click this link: Book Reservation E-mail It is the responsibility of the borrower to return all books in the same condition that they were checked-out in. Any lost, stolen or damaged books must be replaced by the borrower, at the borrower's expense. Below is an example of the book catalog. The color coding on the dates means: Green- printed from 2000 to the present date. Black- printed from 1980 to 1999. Red- printed before 1980
A quick glance through the library list also tells you how current our present library is in any particular subject.

Biographies Biology of Orchids Orchid Collections Orchid Culture This section contains books about biographies, biology, collection and culture. Orchid Guides Orchid Habitats This section contains books ranging from hand guides to encyclopedias and world orchid habitats. Orchid Hybrid List Orchid Journals This section contains books about hybrid orchids and old journals. Orchid Propagation Orchid Fiction This section contains books on orchid breeding and fiction such as "The Orchid Thief." Orchid Species and Hybrids This sections contains volumes about species & hybrids. Pests and diseases Flower Arranging Greenhouses This section contains books about orchid diseases, flower display and greenhouse info. Photography Flower Arranging Reference This section contains information about Photo how to books, flower display and references to garden writing and Robert's Rules of Order.
